ANDY BENAVIDES / ARTIST
Andy creates his world. He is a professional contemporary artist community leader, arts activist, teacher, and Captain of this 1906 ship. Founder and owner of Benavides Picture Framing, Benavides Studio, Inc., The 1906 since 1998. Co-founder and Executive Director of S.M.A.R.T. 501c3.since 2005.

YVETTE BENAVIDES / ARTIST
The Mom of 1906, Yvette is a die hard arts advocate. Her passion is providing opportunity for others, nurturing their nonprofit, teaching and ensuring The 1906 stays a safe place for creative expression. She's a ceramicist too, likes to laugh, has a quick wit and one husband and one kid who are the lights of her life. Owner of The 1906, Co-founder and Director of S.M.A.R.T. 501c3.

DOUGLAS GALLOWAY / ARTIST
Douglas paints stories. The colors in his work immediately transport you to a place and a feeling. Plus his smile lights up a room and he loves our dog.

JACOB HURST / WRITER
Jacob creates lands in far away places. A writer and "imaginer" changing our everyday lives, for just a minute.

LINDA LANG / PAINTER
Linda has had a presence in our building since 2001. She is a painter and a teacher of painting. Her voice is gentle, she travels a lot and enjoys life.

HILARY ROCHOW / ARTIST
Hilary is a designer, illustrator and graphic artist. She is a visual communicator with an eye for the exceptional. She's also an animal lover with 3 critters of her own. Reach out to her for commissions.

ANN ENZMINGER / ARTIST
Ann is the newest member of our 1906 family. She is a multidisciplinary artist currently producing work focused on challenging societal norms,inviting viewers to question the status quo. So happy to have her in the building.

ALEJANDRO AUGUSTINE PADILLA / ARTIST
Alex has the smallest space in the building and he likes it that way. His work attempts to convey the feelings of isolation that often occur with anxiety. Don't let him fool you though - he is VERY funny and smart as hell. Founder and owner of Studio Fantomas.

ANGIE RIOJAS / ARTIST
Angie is a quiet creative. She creates behind her walls and when she brings it out you're like whaaaat?! Her work is conceptual and expressed in many different mediums. Her eye for fashion and design is spot on. She is the founder of Nu Mode - vintage boutique and Nu Image - hair stylist.

JORDAN SKRUHAK / CERAMICIST
Jordan's ceramics are often playful and at times full of deep story telling. She's not only a potter but co-founder of The Clay Dept and OCD Studios. She is devoted to her 2 blue heelers, a cat and Jeremy, her partner in all things creative. She's a busy gal.

RICK SANDOVAL / MASTER UPHOLSTERER
Rick is a career upholsterer. He uses his space to produce masterpieces for his clients. Not only that, he'll be teaching upholstery classes to the next generation. Thank goodness. Keep your eyes open for his paintings - yep, he's an artist on many levels.

SANDY WHITBY / PAINTER
Sandy has been a calming presence in our building since 2001. Her studio comes to life with abstract paintings. Sandy "continues to seek the balance between unexpected accidents and deliberate intention…"

MICHELLE HERNANDEZ / CERAMICIST
Michelle loves plants, building community, teaching and is the founder of Meechi Ceramics. Her passion for clay is contagious.I mean, look at that smile.

JOE DE LA CRUZ / ARTIST
Joe draws. A LOT. Where he used to come to us for guidance, emerging artists now go to him for mentorship and advice. He's perfect for it. Joe lectures and exhibits all over our great city. Founder and owner of Silkwörm Studio & Gallery.

MARK ANTHONY MARTINEZ / ARTIST
Mark Martinez, well what can we say, a conceptual artist, curator, community builder and now co-director of Interloper Gallery and S.M.A.R.T.501C3's curator. Glad to have his knowledge and perspective in the building.
